Materials

 For the base canvas, I decided to use a 28 count evenweave cotton needlework fabric. I chose this because it would be the same size as 14 count aida, but wouldn't be longer in one direction than the other.

 Most of the embroidery was done with DMC 6 strand cotton embroidery floss. The light silver is DMC satin floss which was used for the metal rat and coronet.

For the lining I used a scrap of brocade I had bought out of a discount box at an event at some point. I assume it is polyester.

The tablet weaving used to cover the seams was done using size 10 crochet cotton.

The turk's head knots were made with size 5 cotton variegated craft cord.
