Stitches

I embroidered the pouch using long-armed cross stitch, sometimes referred to as Greek embroidery stitch. For more information on this stitch, you can find my class handout here:

I split the six strands of the embroidery floss into three strands to do the stitching.

Proof of concept of Purple Fret chart on 14 count aida

First three badges - you can see where I misplaced the representation of the dragon crest and had to undo it

The fourth badge added, which is not a dragon eating a chicken, despite what Cellach thought. :)

Rainbow background added to Pelican, along with outlining the babies

Blue background added on middle row, slightly off-white (to make it easier to see against white canvas) background on lower row

Filled in the fold using the other type of long-armed cross stitch

All the embroidery done - you can see that I messed up centering it on the fabric.
